Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Financials and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.42% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 5.63% or 0.1200 points to trade at 2.2500 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) added 4.83% or 0.0029 points to end at 0.0629 and Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) was up 3.52% or 0.0240 points to 0.7050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LISBON:PHRA), which lost 5.52% or 0.0200 points to trade at 0.3420 in late trade. Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) declined 2.63% or 0.0001 points to end at 0.0038 and J. Martins SGPS (LISBON:JMT) shed 1.46% or 0.1850 points to 12.5000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 34 to 18 and 4 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $53.01 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.97% or 0.48 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.26% or 14.40 to trade at $1158.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.90% to 1.1378, while EUR/GBP rose 1.09% to 0.7427.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.62% at 94.81.
