Investing.com – France equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Household Goods, Oil & Gas and Support Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.26%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which rose 2.66% or 1.62 points to trade at 62.58 at the close. Alcatel-Lucent (PARIS:ALUA) added 2.18% or 0.076 points to end at 3.567 and Renault SA (PARIS:RENA) was up 1.73% or 1.68 points to 98.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kering (PARIS:PRTP), which lost 1.65% or 2.80 points to trade at 166.40 in late trade. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) declined 0.93% or 2.25 points to end at 240.80 and BNP Paribas Act. A (PARIS:BNPP) shed 0.67% or 0.38 points to 56.47.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were BIC (PARIS:BICP) which rose 4.62% to 152.75, Innate Pharma (PARIS:IPH) which was up 3.02% to settle at 15.330 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) which gained 2.66% to close at 62.58.
The worst performers were Gecina Nom. (PARIS:GFCP) which was down 2.15% to 120.55 in late trade, Klepierre (PARIS:LOIM) which lost 2.05% to settle at 41.95 and ICADE (PARIS:ICAD) which was down 1.85% to 71.52 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 477 to 415 and 60 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 1.08% to 18.73 a new 1-month low.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.36% or 4.30 to $1204.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.09% or 1.82 to hit $60.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.56% or 1.67 to trade at $66.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1125, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.7099.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 95.36.
