Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Support Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.77%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice SA (AMS:ATCE), which rose 8.97% or 8.63 points to trade at 104.85 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) added 3.54% or 0.34 points to end at 9.84 and Ahold Kon (AMS:AHLN) was up 1.38% or 0.25 points to 18.43 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OCI (AMS:OCI), which lost 3.21% or 0.865 points to trade at 26.065 in late trade. Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) declined 2.36% or 5.70 points to end at 235.35 and Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) shed 2.09% or 1.43 points to 67.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 189 to 56 and 3 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.63% to 20.57.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.21% or 1.31 to $60.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.54% or 1.67 to hit $67.29 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.88% or 10.40 to trade at $1193.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.1247, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.7167.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.73% at 94.42.
