Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which rose 2.86% or 1.00 points to trade at 36.00 at the close. Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) added 1.75% or 0.100 points to end at 5.800 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 1.19% or 0.003 points to 0.255 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which lost 3.02% or 0.530 points to trade at 17.000 in late trade. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) declined 1.57% or 0.120 points to end at 7.500 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) shed 1.45% or 0.250 points to 17.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 11 to 9 and 14 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.38% or 0.19 to $49.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $52.58 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.50 to trade at $1266.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2816, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6669.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.33.
