Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.84% or 0.095 points to trade at 11.340 at the close. Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) added 0.60% or 0.019 points to end at 3.179 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 0.49% or 0.0140 points to 2.8990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.53% or 0.0078 points to trade at 0.2129 in late trade. Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) declined 3.40% or 0.0340 points to end at 0.9650 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 2.58% or 0.1510 points to 5.7070.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 14 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.08% or 0.04 to $51.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $48.77 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.57% or 7.07 to trade at $1237.07 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.96% to 1.1080, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8580.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.71% at 98.11.
