Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Electricity and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which rose 7.87% or 0.210 points to trade at 2.880 at the close. Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 4.64% or 0.80 points to end at 18.03 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) was up 4.25% or 0.98 points to 24.02 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which lost 2.81% or 0.330 points to trade at 11.420 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 2.74% or 0.58 points to end at 20.62 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) shed 2.70% or 0.020 points to 0.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 202 to 139 and 63 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.09% or 14.10 to $1280.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 1.62% or 0.85 to hit $51.56 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.69% or 0.93 to trade at $53.96 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.32% to 3.6726, while EUR/TRY rose 0.09% to 3.9333.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 99.75.
