Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 10.56% or 0.170 points to trade at 1.780 at the close. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) added 6.60% or 0.070 points to end at 1.130 and Otokar (IS:OTKAR) was up 4.86% or 6.40 points to 138.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which lost 5.19% or 0.700 points to trade at 12.800 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 3.81% or 0.84 points to end at 21.18 and Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA) shed 3.77% or 0.220 points to 5.620.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 247 to 112 and 47 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.40% or 4.95 to $1231.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.89% or 1.00 to hit $54.00 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.00% or 1.11 to trade at $56.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.34% to 3.6951, while EUR/TRY rose 0.01% to 3.9268.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.86.
