Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 3.12% or 7.800 points to trade at 258.000 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 2.18% or 1.850 points to end at 86.900 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 2.14% or 19.000 points to 908.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Petron Corp (PS:PCOR), which lost 1.26% or 0.140 points to trade at 10.940 in late trade. Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM) declined 1.17% or 0.070 points to end at 5.900 and LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) shed 0.63% or 0.100 points to 15.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 96 to 91 and 45 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.15% or 2.05 to $1326.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.26% or 0.11 to hit $42.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.62% or 0.28 to trade at $44.95 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.06% to 7.0774, while USD/PHP rose 0.08% to 47.180.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 97.25.
