Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.47%, while the ADX General index lost 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 8.02% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.020 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 5.10% or 0.050 points to end at 1.030 and Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) was up 0.95% or 0.020 points to 2.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 8.57% or 0.150 points to trade at 1.600 in late trade. Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) declined 6.18% or 0.033 points to end at 0.501 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 4.55% or 0.05 points to 1.05.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 5.56% to 0.570, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which was up 4.44% to settle at 0.9400 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which gained 3.39% to close at 6.10.
The worst performers were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was down 7.50% to 1.1100 in late trade, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which lost 4.35% to settle at 4.400 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 3.41% to 0.850 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 23 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 9 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.29% or 0.62 to $48.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 1.55% or 0.76 to hit $49.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.60% or 7.30 to trade at $1217.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.07% to 3.9065.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 100.91.
