Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Basic Metals and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas Telekomunikasyon AS Class A (IS:ALCTL), which rose 19.98% or 1.660 points to trade at 9.970 at the close. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) added 10.81% or 0.200 points to end at 2.050 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was up 10.53% or 0.200 points to 2.100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Holding (IS:METRO), which lost 8.63% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.270 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) declined 3.88% or 1.06 points to end at 26.24 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.50% or 0.010 points to 0.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 189 to 154 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.30% or 27.65 to $1228.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.70% or 0.34 to hit $48.52 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.24 to trade at $51.57 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.33% to 3.6295, while EUR/TRY fell 1.32% to 3.9000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.20.
