Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 added 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae (LS:YSO), which rose 3.43% or 0.0240 points to trade at 0.7230 at the close. Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) added 2.27% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.1800 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was up 1.21% or 0.0430 points to 3.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which lost 1.57% or 0.2100 points to trade at 13.1650 in late trade. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 1.22% or 0.1450 points to end at 11.7800 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) shed 1.16% or 0.0200 points to 1.7070.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 27 to 16 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.89% or 1.47 to $49.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.87% or 1.41 to hit $47.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.45 to trade at $1343.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1318, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8616.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 94.53.
