Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Other and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Tung Kai Tech (TW:3018), which rose 10.00% or 1.50 points to trade at 16.50 at the close. L&K Eng (TW:6139) added 9.98% or 2.35 points to end at 25.90 and Yoko Tech (TW:6131) was up 9.91% or 0.75 points to 8.32 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Precision (TW:3016), which lost 8.06% or 1.50 points to trade at 17.10 in late trade. Ennoconn (TW:6414) declined 6.95% or 27.50 points to end at 368.00 and Siliconware (TW:2325) shed 6.00% or 3.10 points to 48.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 559 to 219 and 71 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 2.01% or 0.64 to $31.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.02% or 0.34 to hit $32.93 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.90 to trade at $1227.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.68% to 33.250, while TWD/CNY rose 0.05% to 0.1967.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 97.52.
