Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 4.00% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.160 at the close. Bdo Unibank (PS:BDO) added 3.43% or 3.30 points to end at 99.50 and Dmci Holdings (PS:DMC) was up 2.59% or 0.300 points to 11.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philex Mining (PS:PX), which lost 4.29% or 0.240 points to trade at 5.360 in late trade. Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) declined 2.64% or 0.380 points to end at 14.000 and Intl Container (PS:ICT) shed 2.34% or 1.350 points to 56.450.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 73 and 35 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.81% or 9.70 to $1188.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 2.24% or 0.62 to hit $28.57 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 2.31% or 0.70 to trade at $31.02 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.36% to 7.2214, while USD/PHP fell 0.39% to 47.460.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 96.13.
