Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Chemicals, Banking and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 10.14% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.076 at the close. Korres (AT:KRRr) added 9.90% or 0.410 points to end at 4.550 and Elliniki Technodomiki Anemos SA (AT:ANEMr) was up 4.88% or 0.060 points to 1.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 4.99% or 0.034 points to trade at 0.647 in late trade. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) declined 4.83% or 0.010 points to end at 0.197 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) shed 4.08% or 0.010 points to 0.235.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 55 to 50 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.44% or 5.43 to $1229.63 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.52% or 0.25 to hit $47.58 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.35% or 0.18 to trade at $50.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.52% to 1.0919, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8473.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.14.
