Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 1.63% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 0.82% or 0.10 points to trade at 12.35 at the close. Snam (MI:SRG) added 0.41% or 0.020 points to end at 4.930 and Tod'S (MI:TOD) was up 0.29% or 0.20 points to 69.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferrari NV (MI:RACE), which lost 6.05% or 2.61 points to trade at 40.54 in late trade. Banca Popolare Milano (MI:PMII) declined 4.91% or 0.0420 points to end at 0.8140 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) shed 4.45% or 0.260 points to 5.580.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 292 to 137 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.69% or 0.23 to $33.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.49% or 0.17 to hit $33.59 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.62% or 6.90 to trade at $1100.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.0885, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.7497.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 98.72.
