Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Paper & Pulp, Optoelectronic and Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.09% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Sunty Development Co Ltd (TW:3266), which rose 9.95% or 1.10 points to trade at 12.15 at the close. Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557) added 9.95% or 0.640 points to end at 7.070 and Elitegroup Computer Systems Co Ltd (TW:2331) was up 9.95% or 1.90 points to 21.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kaulin Mfg (TW:1531), which lost 4.55% or 1.05 points to trade at 22.05 in late trade. Dah San Electric Wire & Cable Co Ltd (TW:1615) declined 4.52% or 0.70 points to end at 14.80 and Global Unichip Corp (TW:3443) shed 4.51% or 10.00 points to 211.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 403 to 356 and 117 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.74% or 0.35 to $46.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.44% or 0.23 to hit $52.63 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.14% or 1.88 to trade at $1324.08 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.30% to 30.106, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2189.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 92.74.
