Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Nokian Renkaat Oyj (HEL:NRE1V), which rose 3.05% or 0.72 points to trade at 24.36 at the close. Orion Oyj B (HEL:ORNBV) added 1.55% or 0.54 points to end at 35.38 and Neste Oil Oyj (HEL:NESTE) was up 1.50% or 0.33 points to 22.37 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elisa Oyj (HEL:ELI1V), which lost 2.04% or 0.59 points to trade at 28.34 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HEL:OTE1V) declined 1.22% or 0.060 points to end at 4.874 and Valmt (HEL:VALMT) shed 1.16% or 0.10 points to 8.93.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 95 to 78 and 3 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 2.71% or 1.34 to $48.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.79% or 1.72 to hit $43.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.42% or 4.80 to trade at $1135.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1245, while EUR/GBP fell 0.62% to 0.7348.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.80.
