Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPRu), which rose 1.52% or 0.0950 points to trade at 6.3600 at the close. Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) added 1.32% or 0.0140 points to end at 1.0740 and Sonae (LS:YSO) was up 1.29% or 0.0140 points to 1.1010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Impresa SGPS (LS:IMPA), which lost 7.02% or 0.0400 points to trade at 0.5700 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 5.53% or 0.5010 points to end at 8.5510 and Banif SA (LS:BANIF) shed 4.00% or 0.0001 points to 0.0025.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 30 to 21 and 2 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for January delivery was up 0.00% or 0.01 to $44.15 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.76% or 0.32 to hit $41.63 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.17% or 12.50 to trade at $1081.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.70% to 1.0735, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.7014.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 99.02.
