Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 1.56% or 2.00 points to trade at 130.25 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 1.07% or 0.48 points to end at 45.24 and Aperam (AS:APAM) was up 0.75% or 0.36 points to 48.67 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 0.93% or 0.43 points to trade at 46.47 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.80% or 0.90 points to end at 111.05 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.73% or 0.105 points to 14.280.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 56 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.28% or 3.45 to $1233.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $51.74 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.0746, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8699.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 100.13.
