Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Kemira Oyj (HEL:KRA1V), which rose 4.14% or 0.45 points to trade at 11.31 at the close. YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V) added 1.89% or 0.13 points to end at 7.02 and Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V) was up 1.37% or 0.31 points to 22.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HEL:OUT1V), which lost 4.59% or 0.1900 points to trade at 3.9500 in late trade. Stora Enso Oyj R (HEL:STERV) declined 2.71% or 0.245 points to end at 8.800 and KONE Oyj (HEL:KNEBV) shed 2.63% or 1.00 points to 37.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 60 and 6 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 0.94% or 0.54 to $56.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.93% or 0.98 to hit $49.88 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.04% or 11.50 to trade at $1092.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.0884, while EUR/GBP fell 0.70% to 0.6981.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 97.86.
