Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Finance & Investment and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.40%, while the ADX General index declined 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD), which rose 5.77% or 0.300 points to trade at 5.500 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 2.21% or 0.013 points to end at 0.600 and Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA) was up 1.87% or 0.009 points to 0.490 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA), which lost 1.45% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.360 in late trade. Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) declined 1.44% or 0.030 points to end at 2.060 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) shed 1.41% or 0.040 points to 2.800.
The top performers on the ADX General were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which rose 5.77% to 1.100, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 3.70% to settle at 0.560 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 3.27% to close at 1.58.
The worst performers were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was down 3.70% to 0.520 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 3.57% to settle at 2.70 and Ad Commercial (AD:ADCB) which was down 1.85% to 6.35 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 fell and 10 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.46% or 0.65 to $45.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.78% or 0.83 to hit $47.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.06% or 0.85 to trade at $1329.55 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.01% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.03% to 4.1190.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 95.45.
