Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 3.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Tieto Oyj (HEL:TIE1V), which rose 10.74% or 2.22 points to trade at 22.89 at the close. YIT Oyj (HEL:YTY1V) added 9.26% or 0.43 points to end at 5.12 and Nokia Oyj (HEL:NOKIA) was up 7.25% or 0.370 points to 5.475 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metso Oyj (HEL:MEO1V), which added 0.09% or 0.02 points to trade at 21.65 in late trade. Valmt (HEL:VALMT) added 0.83% or 0.07 points to end at 9.12 and Huhtamaki Oyj (HEL:HUH1V) gained 0.97% or 0.27 points to 28.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 161 to 21 and 1 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was up 1.89% or 0.81 to $43.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.22% or 1.23 to hit $39.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.51% or 17.40 to trade at $1136.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.77% to 1.1414, while EUR/GBP fell 1.29% to 0.7271.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.34% at 94.63.
