On the New York Mercantile Exchange, Crude oil futures for February delivery traded at USD56.71 a barrel at time of writing falling 0.72%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD56.45 a barrel. Crude oil was likely to find support at USD54.42 and resistance at USD58.53.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, fell 0.08% to trade at USD90.27.
Elsewhere on the ICE, Brent oil for February delivery fell 0.00% to trade at USD61.33 a barrel, with the spread between the Brent oil and Crude oil contracts stood at USD4.62 a barrel.
