Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.71%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 14.58% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.110 at the close. Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) added 13.26% or 0.024 points to end at 0.205 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 6.00% or 0.006 points to 0.106 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alicorp (LM:ALI), which lost 1.74% or 0.090 points to trade at 5.090 in late trade. Edegel (LM:EDE) declined 1.61% or 0.040 points to end at 2.450 and Enersur SA (LM:ENE) shed 1.35% or 0.100 points to 7.300.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 6 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 8.89% or 2.62 to $32.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 9.71% or 2.84 to hit $32.09 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1098.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.08% to 3.4465, while EUR/PEN fell 0.13% to 3.7518.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 99.64.
