Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Basic Materials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 2.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank (WA:MBK), which rose 6.99% or 18.75 points to trade at 286.90 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 6.06% or 6.60 points to end at 115.60 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 5.95% or 0.73 points to 13.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 1.45% or 76.85 points to trade at 5223.15 in late trade. Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) declined 1.20% or 0.40 points to end at 33.03 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 0.77% or 0.50 points to 64.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 312 to 245 and 99 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 7.21% or 2.13 to $31.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 7.57% or 2.21 to hit $31.46 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.04% or 0.40 to trade at $1097.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.70% to 4.4603, while USD/PLN fell 0.15% to 4.1246.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.31% at 99.45.
