Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN), which rose 3.72% or 9.00 points to trade at 251.00 at the close. Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) added 3.09% or 0.40 points to end at 13.35 and AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA) was up 2.81% or 0.45 points to 16.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS), which lost 13.54% or 1.55 points to trade at 9.90 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.17% or 0.010 points to end at 0.230 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) shed 3.45% or 0.23 points to 6.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 314 to 79 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.00% or 11.40 to $1134.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.30% or 1.05 to hit $44.65 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.09% or 1.01 to trade at $47.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.03% to 3.0442, while EUR/TRY rose 0.23% to 3.4209.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 96.10.
