Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services, Materials and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO), which rose 2.79% or 2.450 points to trade at 90.990 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB) added 0.47% or 1.140 points to end at 245.420 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was down 0.15% or 0.020 points to 13.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 7.25% or 0.480 points to trade at 6.180 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 6.06% or 4.610 points to end at 71.500 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) shed 5.48% or 0.720 points to 12.420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 93 to 49 and 7 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.63% or 7.10 to $1139.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 7.99% or 3.93 to hit $45.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 8.70% or 4.71 to trade at $49.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.30% to 16.9669, while EUR/MXN rose 2.11% to 19.1746.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 95.39.
