Investing.com – Brazil equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Financials and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 2.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Bovespa were EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3), which rose 8.39% or 0.63 points to trade at 8.14 at the close. ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) added 7.58% or 0.10 points to end at 1.42 and Bradespar SA (SA:BRAP4) was up 7.48% or 0.84 points to 12.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PDG Realty SA (SA:PDGR3), which lost 2.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.370 in late trade. Light SA (SA:LIGT3) declined 2.06% or 0.36 points to end at 17.14 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) shed 2.05% or 0.30 points to 14.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 193 to 109 and 8 ended unchanged on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.64% to 31.66.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.42% or 5.00 to $1193.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $61.16 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.24% or 2.90 to trade at $132.15 .
USD/BRL was down 1.25% to 3.1307, while EUR/BRL rose 0.76% to 3.4901.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.57% at 95.99.
