Investing.com - Gold futures were lower in European trade on Friday.
On the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange, Gold futures for June delivery traded at USD1214.50 a troy ounce at time of writing falling 0.87%.
Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1210.80 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1178.00 and resistance at USD1227.70.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.41% to trade at USD93.78.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for July delivery fell 0.76% to trade at USD17.333 a troy ounce while Copper for July delivery fell 0.79% to trade at USD2.901 a pound.
