Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Healthcare and Beverage sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BRU:ABI), which rose 1.55% or 1.65 points to trade at 108.00 at the close. DIeteren SA (BRU:IETB) added 1.37% or 0.500 points to end at 36.870 and UCB (BRU:UCB) was up 1.22% or 0.75 points to 62.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BRU:TNET), which lost 0.27% or 0.14 points to trade at 52.11 in late trade. Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BRU:COFB) declined 0.13% or 0.13 points to end at 96.30 and Elia (BRU:ELI) gained 0.11% or 0.045 points to 39.255.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 32 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.36% or 4.40 to $1222.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.47% or 0.89 to hit $59.61 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.69 to trade at $66.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1373, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.7221.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 93.64.
