Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 3.20% or 0.85 points to trade at 27.40 at the close. OrangePL (WA:OPL) added 1.55% or 0.07 points to end at 4.58 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.31% or 1.00 points to 77.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which lost 5.17% or 3.04 points to trade at 55.81 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 3.98% or 4.59 points to end at 110.61 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) shed 3.20% or 2.39 points to 72.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 347 to 201 and 173 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.02% or 0.01 to $48.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.56% or 6.94 to trade at $1236.94 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.15% to 4.1913, while USD/PLN fell 0.99% to 3.7868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 98.18.
