Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Rubber and Oil, Gas & Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Coland (TW:4144), which rose 9.91% or 4.50 points to trade at 49.90 at the close. Thunder Tiger (TW:8033) added 9.90% or 0.79 points to end at 8.77 and Hsin Ba Ba (TW:9906) was up 9.86% or 1.70 points to 18.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Macronix (TW:2337), which lost 9.72% or 0.310 points to trade at 2.880 in late trade. Jye Tai Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:6165) declined 5.91% or 0.60 points to end at 9.55 and Evertex (TW:1470) shed 5.85% or 1.15 points to 18.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 412 to 331 and 109 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.55% or 0.27 to $49.60 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.26% or 0.13 to hit $50.23 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.14% or 1.75 to trade at $1214.95 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.18% to 32.606, while TWD/CNY fell 0.10% to 0.2013.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.70.
