Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.62% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1), which rose 4.08% or 3.150 points to trade at 81.000 at the close. Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 4.22% or 0.520 points to end at 12.880 and Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA) was up 2.94% or 0.230 points to 8.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which lost 5.07% or 2.16 points to trade at 40.45 in late trade. PINFRA SAB De CV (MX:PINFRA) declined 2.55% or 4.900 points to end at 186.850 and Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) shed 1.59% or 0.450 points to 27.810.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 115 to 57 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.10 to $1145.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $48.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.26 to trade at $51.66 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.18% to 16.6279, while EUR/MXN fell 0.43% to 18.6937.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.65.
