Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Energy, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 2.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA (OL:TGS), which rose 14.95% or 18.9 points to trade at 145.3 at the close. REC Silicon ASA (OL:REC) added 13.52% or 0.19 points to end at 1.59 and Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS) was up 13.35% or 2.12 points to 18.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Golden Ocean Group Ltd (OL:GOGLT), which lost 0.52% or 0.03 points to trade at 5.69 in late trade. Opera Software ASA (OL:OPERA) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 68.00 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) gained 1.22% or 1.70 points to 140.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.72% or 1.29 to $46.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.73% or 1.33 to hit $47.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.66% or 9.05 to trade at $1358.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was up 0.45% to 9.4024, while USD/NOK rose 0.82% to 8.5015.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 96.31.
