Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Financial Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.45%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were El Puerto De Liverpool Sab De CV (MX:LIVEPOLC1), which rose 1.76% or 3.110 points to trade at 178.900 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 1.26% or 0.180 points to end at 14.250 and Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) was up 1.11% or 0.350 points to 31.870 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Gruma, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GRUMAB), which lost 2.35% or 4.650 points to trade at 194.090 in late trade. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) declined 2.30% or 0.610 points to end at 26.000 and Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) shed 1.96% or 7.870 points to 390.580.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 68 to 54 and 13 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1183.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $47.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.15 to trade at $55.05 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.03% to 15.2615, while EUR/MXN rose 0.10% to 16.3912.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 98.78.
