Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite rose 1.36% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Dromeas (AT:DROr), which rose 17.95% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.138 at the close. Elgeka (AT:ELGr) added 9.95% or 0.021 points to end at 0.232 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 9.52% or 1.00 points to 11.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Halcor (AT:XAKO), which lost 8.70% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.315 in late trade. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 5.37% or 0.021 points to end at 0.370 and Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) shed 4.83% or 0.007 points to 0.138.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 31 and 9 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.39% or 4.30 to $1103.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.57% or 0.69 to hit $44.69 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.07 to trade at $47.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.44% to 1.1268, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.7339.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 95.77.
