Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods & Services and Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which rose 2.69% or 0.970 points to trade at 36.970 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) added 2.40% or 0.850 points to end at 36.250 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) was up 1.81% or 4.670 points to 262.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB), which lost 2.04% or 1.240 points to trade at 59.510 in late trade. Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) declined 1.95% or 0.580 points to end at 29.200 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 1.51% or 0.250 points to 16.320.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 64 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.49% or 5.60 to $1147.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.05 to hit $51.68 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.05 to trade at $57.44 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.80% to 15.7855, while EUR/MXN rose 0.25% to 17.2798.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.50% at 97.28.
