Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Footwear & Textile sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Watawala Plantations PLC (CM:WATA) added 18.60% or 4.00 points to end at 25.50 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 13.73% or 41.90 points to 347.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 9.97% or 199.30 points to trade at 1800.00 in late trade. On`ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) declined 8.60% or 5.60 points to end at 59.50 and Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) shed 7.93% or 9.90 points to 115.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 149 to 87 and 10 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.09% or 0.04 to $49.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $56.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.82% or 9.00 to trade at $1100.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 208.820, while USD/LKR fell 0.06% to 133.730.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.47% at 97.17.
