Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 1.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Moncler SpA (MI:MONC), which rose 3.39% or 0.43 points to trade at 13.13 at the close. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) added 3.15% or 1.05 points to end at 34.35 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was up 2.98% or 0.59 points to 20.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ansaldo STS (MI:STS), which lost 0.81% or 0.08 points to trade at 9.82 in late trade. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) declined 0.32% or 0.0040 points to end at 1.2480 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) gained 0.08% or 0.004 points to 4.778.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 297 to 126 and 3 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 2.84% or 1.04 to $37.85 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 3.28% or 1.20 to hit $37.82 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1068.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.0937, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.7376.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 98.19.
