Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Sports, Information Technology and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 2.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO), which rose 14.33% or 5.920 points to trade at 47.220 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) added 12.56% or 0.50 points to end at 4.48 and Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) was up 5.90% or 0.350 points to 6.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which lost 1.72% or 0.04 points to trade at 2.28 in late trade. Turk Traktor (IS:TTRAK) declined 0.41% or 0.30 points to end at 73.70 and Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) shed 0.11% or 0.02 points to 18.49.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 291 to 73 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.50% or 6.00 to $1214.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 6.30% or 1.83 to hit $30.87 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 7.19% or 2.31 to trade at $34.49 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.81% to 2.9537, while EUR/TRY fell 0.79% to 3.2920.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.12% at 96.78.
