Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare, Technology and Transportation & Logistics sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 1.71% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index climbed 1.18%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG), which rose 3.42% or 1.900 points to trade at 57.470 at the close. Bayer AG NA (XETRA:BAYGN) added 3.14% or 4.450 points to end at 146.200 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (XETRA:FMEG) was up 3.07% or 2.440 points to 81.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (XETRA:HEIG), which lost 0.33% or 0.250 points to trade at 75.840 in late trade. Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) declined 0.23% or 0.030 points to end at 13.205 and RWE AG ST O.N. (XETRA:RWEG) gained 0.12% or 0.030 points to 25.010.
The top performers on the MDAX were Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which rose 2.50% to 29.350, Gerresheimer AG (XETRA:GXId) which was up 2.38% to settle at 54.550 and Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which gained 2.37% to close at 72.550.
The worst performers were Suedzucker Mannheim Ochsenfurt AG (XETRA:SZUG) which was down 8.09% to 11.305 in late trade, Wincor Nixdorf O.N. (XETRA:WING) which lost 1.01% to settle at 45.665 and Sky Deutschland AG NA (XETRA:SKYDn) which was down 0.50% to 6.800 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which rose 3.80% to 117.400, Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which was up 3.59% to settle at 43.520 and Morphosys AG O.N. (XETRA:MORG) which gained 3.08% to close at 59.650.
The worst performers were Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) which was down 1.84% to 159.950 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which lost 1.59% to settle at 12.350 and SMA Solar Technology AG (XETRA:S92G) which was down 1.54% to 13.085 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 591 to 145 and 34 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 17.32.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.06% or 12.60 to $1206.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.24% or 0.63 to hit $51.42 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.83% or 1.03 to trade at $57.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.0602, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.7236.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 99.63.
