Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 3.59% or 12.470 points to trade at 359.820 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) added 1.86% or 0.200 points to end at 10.980 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 1.26% or 0.610 points to 49.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which lost 4.03% or 0.800 points to trade at 19.070 in late trade. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 2.76% or 1.330 points to end at 46.810 and Industrias CH, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICHB) shed 2.50% or 1.450 points to 56.630.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 59 and 3 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.25% or 2.70 to $1082.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.87% or 1.23 to hit $41.70 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.05% or 1.42 to trade at $45.19 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.02% to 16.7318, while EUR/MXN rose 0.43% to 18.0514.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 98.75.
