Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Software & Computer Services, Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Vopak (AMS:VOPA), which rose 0.96% or 0.49 points to trade at 51.40 at the close. Randstad (AMS:RAND) added 0.27% or 0.15 points to end at 56.48 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) was down 0.05% or 0.05 points to 100.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KPN Kon (AMS:KPN), which lost 3.75% or 0.123 points to trade at 3.159 in late trade. OCI (AMS:OCI) declined 2.55% or 0.755 points to end at 28.840 and Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP) shed 2.01% or 5.15 points to 251.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 70 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.92% to 19.59 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 1.64% or 0.80 to $47.88 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 1.50% or 0.84 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1187.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.94% to 1.0731, while EUR/GBP fell 1.18% to 0.7230.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 98.75.
