Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.43% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc), which rose 2.17% or 0.67 points to trade at 31.55 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:ING) added 2.02% or 0.265 points to end at 13.410 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 1.64% or 1.41 points to 87.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 4.94% or 0.27 points to trade at 5.22 in late trade. Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) declined 4.20% or 0.32 points to end at 7.38 and DSM Kon (AS:DSMN) shed 4.03% or 2.02 points to 47.95.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 73 and 4 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 3.90% to 20.04.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.24% or 1.55 to $46.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 3.67% or 1.85 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 2.80 to trade at $1111.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.98% to 1.0856, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.7061.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 98.06.
