Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Support Services, Media and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 1.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Philips Kon (AMS:PHG), which rose 1.20% or 0.29 points to trade at 24.48 at the close. Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL) added 0.22% or 0.04 points to end at 15.71 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) was down 0.72% or 0.06 points to 7.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Relx NV (AMS:RELX), which lost 3.26% or 0.485 points to trade at 14.390 in late trade. Randstad (AMS:RAND) declined 3.14% or 1.95 points to end at 60.22 and Altice SA (AMS:ATCE) shed 2.89% or 3.40 points to 114.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 32 and 5 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 14.88% to 19.85.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.33% or 0.64 to $47.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.75% or 0.95 to hit $53.66 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.91% or 9.90 to trade at $1095.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.16% to 1.1112, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.7137.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.86% at 96.51.
