With Europe flirting with stagflation and bond yields dropping sharply (US 10 yr yields fell below 3% even though Fed is scheduled to rollout at least two more hikes of 0.75% to 0.5% this quarter, crypto-winter setting in and dollar now over-valued, gold is the only safe investment at this juncture. All that India's sharp import duty hike (from 10.75% to 15%) did was cause gold to dip for a few hours before the fundamentals took over.

Gold will bounce back in coming week to cross $1822 - after the selloff on Friday triggered by import duty hike by India of 4.25%.China demand combined with lower drop in US 10 yr yields below 3% and the increasing risk about stagflation in Europe which cobbles ECB attempts to hike interest rates are primary drivers. India gold should cross 52000 next week and settle around 52500 as the impact of import duty hike sinks in.
