Lloyds Banking Aug 26, 2021 9:51
Usually after a house buying stimulus follows the opposite happens and housing market nose dives. That maybe why Lloyd's is suffering, also it used to have a very good dividend and seems intent on keeping its money for house purchases.
Argo Blockchain joins Bitcoin Mining Council May 25, 2021 9:53
Damage limitation. It still needs tremendous amounts of power, switching to green power sources takes that energy which would be better used for heavy industry which has got an alternative, or for home use.
AstraZeneca to publish full trial data after U.S. rebuke Mar 23, 2021 8:26
I sense there's an awful amount of politics involved in the attacks against this vaccination. First with the EU it can be used as a cover for incompetence in being so slow in getting their population immunized and secondly big pharma wanting their higher priced products to be used.
UK police break up COVID-19 rule-breaching wedding with 150 guests Jan 22, 2021 16:42
Interesting to see the tactics used by the police. an illegal house party and the police waited until it finished and everyone got fined. Wedding of 400 and only 6 got fined. Go figure.
PM sold out fish in Brexit trade deal, fishermen say Dec 28, 2020 14:23
Isn't the deal that we get an immediate 20% increase in our quoter and a sliding increase to 100% over 5 1/2 years when we regain full control of who we allow to fish in our waters and also the ability to set conservation areas.
Raab says pursuing trade deals with Australia, U.S., Indo-Pacific region Dec 28, 2020 14:01
I t depends how the trade deals are put together. If countries gain price advantage because of poor environmental standards then that needs to be the barrier otherwise dirty manufacturing processes in the UK will just continue exporting them to those with lower standards. Not too dissimilar to the way the UK has exported it's non-recycled waste to poorer countries who've dumped so much of it into rivers and the oceans.
European shares cheer U.S. stimulus, post-Brexit trade deal Dec 28, 2020 13:27
I agree what we need in most news items are more facts and less opinions.
As clock ticks, EU and UK tell each other to budge on Brexit Oct 20, 2020 12:50
France, one of the founding countries is seeking to punish us for rejecting their club. The main negotiators are French and we, being a foreign nation are useful as diversionary tactic to take the heat off looking at their own internal problems. This deal could have been done quite easily along the lines of the Canadian one but their insistence to have fishing rights in our waters in perpetuity beggars belief, you can imagine how that would go down if the shoe was on the other foot.

German hydrogen economy to spark traded market for imports - consultants Jun 22, 2020 15:27

Statue of scout founder Baden-Powell to be taken down in Britain Jun 11, 2020 10:44
To say Churchill ignited WW2 shows what a poor grasp of historical facts you have.
Eden Research May 21, 2020 9:30
It looks like Eden is a slow burner. Definitely one for the long-term. Now at 6.95 an excellent buy. Directors have been chosen wisely and yesterdays announcement by EU that it was aiming to halve the use of pesticides and promote organic farming by 2030. Eden recently got certified for use on organic crops. Great company that is part of the new wave for this century.
Johnson heckled as he visits flood-hit area in central England Mar 08, 2020 18:44
Most of the British press are ***** On important issues I check several sources and video to get at some idea of the truth. Regards to this issue., I agree with PM's assessment.
China says have agreed with US to cancel tariffs in different phases Nov 07, 2019 10:53
Trump will be ensuring that any final deal comes at a time of the greatest political advantage, during the 6 months prior to elections.
James Dyson scraps electric car project Oct 10, 2019 18:16
Chinese and other Asian countries probably providing too much competion. after all an electric motor has been around a long time and there's not much improvement to be gained there. Systems to recover energy lost as heat when braking are well advanced from the Formula E boys and the weakness in the system is the battery technology which he'd have to solve and lock down with patents to make it worthwhile . As for Musk he's not doing great at the moment. Yes 10 years ago he was the only guy building them but starting 2020 all the major car cos will be churning them out and with fewer parts, cheaper than their fossil fuel cousins.
From Magna Carta to Brexit: 800 years of constitutional crises in Britain Aug 31, 2019 2:50
Interesting article which shows that in today's politics and the suspension of parliament to be insignificant just a smart manoeuvre.
Hong Kong protesters offer apologies, China doubles down after airport clash Aug 14, 2019 11:07
