Trained in Nematology, but distracted by Financial Markets, I have been writing about financial markets for over 10 years. My specialty is charting indices with a core set of technicals, but consider stocks should be viewed with one eye on technicals and the other on fundamentals. When selecting for stocks, I like to see new highs on heavier volume followed by a quiet period of 2-3 weeks consolidation near highs. Within this, I like stocks from sectors which are out of favour but gaining bullish momentum: my snapshot sector analysis is available on Twitter with the #sectorbreadth hashtag (@fallondpicks).  A good story to back the move helps, but is not essential.
