Interest rate cuts are a magnified press story. The world is performing well at this level of rates. So what will happen when rates hit 3%. ftse 15000. Dow 60000?
bears crucified
Not too bad, its just a wee spike, nothing lasts long this days…
Tis but a flesh wound
Sold FTSE for 1% gain nice surprise!
well done Ian you are getting cosistant with your gains and profits keep up the good work
6 points...ow that is cruel. I think we all know the feeling of just missing out. Enjoy the sports tomorrow as I know you not trade on the Fridays. I will probably do scalping with shorts tomorrow. It usually works on Fridays but things feel bullish.
Who can know the peaks? I am now out of ftse positions (full salon, cannot watch graph.) I shorted the oil. Bye.
longed 7803
closed half of it for 20 lovely pips
Well done Alex. That was confident going long at 7803 what gave you the confidence to make that decision ?
price dropped on open to the 5minute 20moving average along with some bullish momentum indicators. i had some fibonacci extemsions for take profit marks
Fed is still maintaining there will be 3 cuts this year. With inflation still above target, I cannot see this happening. So the question is, why is the Fed pumping the market?
Uk100 top is not confirmed instead theprice broke out of failed test of 7782. market should give back some of gains of FOMC today into Friday and Monday looking to short into 7825/50 Good Luck
Going back a couple of days, Mike Williams asked CP for a bit of advice. CP said take your short profit and re-enter when it goes back up…..turned out nice advice didn’t it. Good stuff.
sure was. the markets are bullish. have been since October. you can short it but you gave to be realistic with your target. its been much easier to buy dips and swing
I waited til the next day as my target was 7700 but I bailed at 7710ish which was good. It did make 7700 briefly but I was more than happy with 50 points on a 3UKS.
morning. yesterdays long from 7724 closed at 7800. lovely. it did run offside a bit but was happy to keep hold of it as the 15 minute chart was still bullish.
opened dow 39655
Again, what direction? If you don't say, why bother posting?
opened 7809
A pointless comment without direction...
Did I miss the part where rates were cut?
Gold has shot up which says an awful lot. Earned just shy of £400 in in interest making my position profitable. Will happily leave my short and love it when she drops. I hope Ged can hang in there and weather the storm.
I considered sitting it out, but took my loss. Will take approx 5 - 8 days normal trading to make it back. I withdraw on a Friday, profit related, so my penance will be no bung for this weekend. Kids and grandkids will be on gruel!
Bow moment for DOW
And to Powell too, I presume, for not crushing the obvious mania?
Short 7760
Not enjoying watching the dow tonight…..i’ve only had one decent loss since Christmas, but i can feel the possibility of having to take a second on the chin……will stay patient. Ho hum
Jasper Phillipsen wins again!
Ha…. Going to watch tonight…..
lol - sorry mate
No probs Pat!, will still watch later…..will be more exciting than the old men’s racing at Darley Moor last Sunday
While we wait the FOMC, I am still left somewhat puzzled by the BOJ move yesterday. Why would anyone bother to move rates by 0.1 to 0.0%. That is totally ludicrous. At the very least they should have moved it from -0.1 to +0.1. Can anyone explain their caution. Unless they are intentionally allowing the JPY to devalue
Somewhere - it moved from -0 1. Negative rate to even. it had been negative for years.
UK will cut rates first
Nervousness is present as traders await Fomc.
Currently long on ftse and looking for62. Good luck everyone.
Shame you not at IC markets trading at 7760 current ;-)
lol.
I got caught out a bit by Wall St yesterday, but I don’t stand to make as much as Pat will when it retracts. Keep your eye out for me tomorrow Pat, I’m thinking of doing the lanes around the Mast and Wham.
I guess I'll probably never know. lol
Don’t want to tell people on here……appears to be a few nutjobs around
Sorry- I take it that's where you live?
All good.Hedge funds confusing people. Selling on good news. Buying will come
To my eye, there's a rising wedge pattern forming on the weekly time frame. What's the group concensus?
agree should jump ftse
added another long. much bigger at 7724
i wont ever enter a trade with any great size outside of cash hours unless its a real strong signal
closed half of this at 7730 to bank some money and close the other long 7734. looks like this long 7724 might not be the right trade. hoped to get back up and retest the high
