  • Ulvr is always in the business of acquisition (they bought 6 major brands since 2020) and GSK consumer healthcare potentially allows it to branch out their f&b range which I think could be interesting for them to grow their top line. They made a sneaky undervalued offer to GSK as it was no secret the latter wants to get rid of its consumer healthcare business

    • If its overvalued GSK would have accepted on the spot!

    • If this m&a is successful, ulvr will probably be the largest company by market cap in ftse100. BTW, I sold have my positions in GSK to buy Ulvr

  • The GSK consumer healthcare bid is just noise and media made it sound like a blunder. If one is relatively familiar with Ulvr, you will know its a norm for them to acquire assets. It is only a bad practice if one over pays for it. Oh, ulvr made 6 acquisitions since 2020 and this will be another one. https://www.unilever.com/investors/news-and-announcements/acquisitions-disposals/

                        • Unilever [LON:ULVR], First Quarter Trading Statement, Friday 29 AprilSteve Clayton, Manager of the HL Select Funds“Unilever disappointed many with its last set of numbers and investors will be hoping to see a stronger trend in volumes when they report Q1 figures on Thurs 29 April. However with the pandemic accelerating in some of Unilever’s key emerging markets, like India and Brazil, this could be wishful thinking. The one thing investors should be able to rely upon is a dividend. The group raised the quarterly payout by 4% at the full year stage and stressed the importance the group places on delivering a growing dividend to shareholders, although of course, when it comes to dividends, there are no guarantees.”
